The first chapter of the Moorish Holy Koran (MHK) contains the revealed science of the hierarchies of continuity within ALLAH’s continuum. This section of the MHK is encoded with the knowledge of metamorphosis and higher consciousness unfoldment from the higher frequency threshold within ALLAH’s eternal kingdom. Within the verses of the first chapter are the instructions regarding the incubation process of the “perfect” seeds of creation to the greater evolutionary manifestation of ALLAH’s infinite garment of plurality and unity: the many and the one.

“Time never was when man was not.” If life of man at any time began, a time would come when it would end. “The thoughts of Allah cannot be circumscribed. No finite mind can comprehend things infinite. All finite things are subject unto change. All finite things will cease to be because there was a time when they were not.” The bodies and the souls of men are finite things, and they will change, yea, from the finite point of view the time will come when they will be no more. “But man himself is not the body, nor the soul; he is a spirit and a part of Allah.” Creative Fate gave to man, to spirit-man, a soul that he might function on the plane of soul; gave him a body of the flesh, that he might function on the plane of things made manifest. Why did creative Fate give to spirit-man a soul that he might function on the plane of soul? Why did creative Fate give to soul a body of the flesh that he might function on the plane of things that are made manifest?

["Hear, now, ye worlds, dominions, powers and thrones!]

Hear, now, ye cherubim, ye seraphim, ye angels and ye men!

“Hear, now, oh protoplast, and earth, and plant and beast!

“Hear, now, ye creeping things of earth, ye fish that swim, ye birds that fly!

“Hear, now, ye winds that blow, ye thunders and ye lightnings of the sky!

“Hear, now, ye spirits of the fire, of water, earth, and air!

“Hear, now, oh everything that is, or was, or evermore will be, for Wisdom speaks from out of the highest plane of spirit life:

“Man is a thought of Allah; all thoughts of Allah are infinite; they are not measured up by time, for things that are concerned with time, begin and end.

“The thoughts of Allah are the everlasting of the past unto the never ending days to come. And so is man, the spirit-man.

“But man like every other thought of Allah, was but a seed, a seed that held within itself the potencies of Allah, just as the seed of any plant of earth holds deep within itself the attributes of every part of that especial plant.

“So spirit-man, as seed of Allah held deep within himself the attributes of every part of God.

“Now, seed are perfect, yea, as perfect as the source from which they come; but they are not unfolded into life made manifest. The child is as perfect as the mother is. So man, the seed, must be deep planted in a soil that he might grow, unfold, as does the bud unfold to show the flower. The human seed that came forth from the heart of Allah was full ordained to be the Lord of plane of soul, and of the plane of things made manifest. So Allah, the husbandman of every thing that is, threw forth this human seed into the soil of soul; it grew apace, and man became a living soul; and he became the Lord of all the kingdom of the soul. Hark, now, let every creature hear, the plane of soul is but the ether of the spirit plane vibrating not so fast, and in the slower rhythm of this plane the essences of life are manifest; the perfumes and the odors, the true sensations and the all of love are manifest.

“And these soul attributes become a body beautiful. A multitude of lessons man must learn upon the plane of soul; and here he tarries many ages until his lessons are all learned. Upon the boundary of the plane of soul, the ether began to vibrate slower still and then the essences took on a final garb; the perfumes and the odors and the true sensations and the all of love were clothed in flesh; and man was clothed in flesh. Perfected man must pass through all the ways of life, and so a carnal nature was full manifest, a nature that sprang forth from fleshly things. Without a foe a soldier never knows his strength, and thought must be developed by the exercise of strength. And so this carnal nature soon became a foe that man must fight, that he might be the strength of Allah made manifest. Let every living thing stand still and hear! Man is the Lord of all the plane of manifest, of protoplast, of mineral, of plant, of beast, but he gave up his birthrights, just to gratify his lower self. But man will regain his lost estate, his heritage; but he must do it in a conflict that cannot be told in words. Yea, he must suffer trials and temptations manifold; but let him know that cherubim and seraphim that rule the stations of the sun and spirit of the mighty Allah who rule the solar stars are his protectors and his guide, and they will lead to victory. Man will be fully saved, redeemed, perfected by the things he suffers on the plane of flesh, and on the plane of soul. When man has conquered carnal things his garb of flesh will then have served its purpose well and it will fall; will be no more.

“Then he will stand untrammeled on the plane of soul where he must full complete his victories. Unnumbered foes will stand before man upon the plane of soul; these he must overcome, yea, overcome them every one. Thus hope will ever be his beacon light; there is no failure for the human soul, for Allah is leading on and victory is sure.

“Man cannot die; the spirit-man is one with Allah, and while Allah lives man cannot die. When man has conquered every foe upon the plane of soul the seed will have full opened out, will have unfolded in the Holy Breath. The garb of soul will then have served its purpose well, and man will need it never more, and it will pass and be no more and man will then attain unto the blessedness of perfectness and be at one with Allah.”

The Moorish maxim, “Perfect man must pass through all the ways of Life” (MHK 1)” informs the “Revealers of Light” (MHK 2:16) to study the ancient initiation sites and the star grid mathematics which are encoded with the calculations of the greater astrophysical geometries that are linked to the code within the Asiatic Man/Woman. The perpetual study of “Self” and the great temples that represent “Self” reveal that astrophysical sacred geometrics contain the coordinates to greater universes within universes. This code is reflected as the great Chiliocosm in the Buddha Cosmological System (BCS). The BCS represents a complex interplay of intersecting and interpolating physical and non-physical intelligence.

The “Ancient of Days” and the Creative Hosts (Elohim/Allahuma), as cosmic guides for the “Revealers of Light’, plan to activate the spiritual-geometric grid of consciousness which is locked within the unique spiraling pyramidions called DNA. The Cosmological signature implanted in Man/Woman and the ancient megalithic sites of Earth will begin a transformation process which will display the relationship between man and the Chiliocosm. Deep within the esoteric language and codes of the Moorish Holy Koran are the calculations for moral upliftment, but also psycho-spiritual activation for the paradigm shift in consciousness evolution.

The electrifying age, that Noble Drew Ali revealed in lesson, expressed the connection between the higher heavens and the Earth plane called Assiah. A keen study of the Moorish Holy Koran, with the divine aim to “uplift fallen humanity,” explains that Man’s problem has been that he has tried to encompass ALLAH into a anthropomorphic and humanly minute concept, without gathering a greater and universal understanding of the cosmic principles and the “Many and One” dynamics of ALLAH.

Therefore, when Man begins to understand the cosmic principles, the “Many and One” dynamics and the Chiliocosmic nature of the universe, then Man will learn to teleport himself out of the prison geometry and his linear concept of time and reality, which is psychologically reflected as a closed universe cycle of static space. As long as Man remains in a dead (stagnate) state of consciousness with the concept of empty space being the host of linear reality, he cannot transliterate through the higher consciousness dimensions of the “Creator Illuminaries” (The Divinities of ALLAH who are unequivocally a part of the Creative “Garment of Light’) who await his higher consciousness delivery.

It was stated in chapter 47 of the Moorish Holy Koran that the Moorish descendents “honored not the principles of their mother and father.” When analyzing this statement from a psychological perspective, it is concluded that this is the reference point for the creation of a psychologically and spiritually disconnected semi-conscious entity.

From an esoteric stand point regarding your ancient connection, the absent use of the psycho-spiritual principles of your ancient mothers and fathers instantly disconnects you from the codified language that is embedded within the genetic memory of the Ancient Scientists that are waiting to be expressed through bio-spiritual memory expression. To connect oneself with the ancient consciousness network of Moorish genius, the adept must first reconnect the disconnected psyche back to the collective psycho-spiritual CPU (Central Processing Unit.)

To honor thy mother and thy father, one must first understand one’s etheric familial role and the cosmic instructions left by the primorial parents for the perpetual cosmic bio-spiritual expression called child. In this case, the instruction left by the ancient Moorish mothers and fathers was “Man, Know Thyself.” It was known that within each Moorish adept, was contained the gateway to the collective unconscious which were latent the undeveloped genius and the undeveloped sense receptors that connected to the infinite and universal super computer of ALLAH. Unlike other educations systems, which encouraged the entrance of external knowledge, the ancient forefathers of the Moorish encouraged that the knowledge be “extracted” from the infinite inner sanctorum as the door to infinite wisdom lead to the boundlessness of “inner” space.

Noble Drew Ali taught of “Mental Slavery” and encouraged the Moorish children to learn of their higher selves and their lower selves as this was the beginning of “Self Mastery.” The concrete mind of the individual that dwells in the plane of lower self defines reality as 1) that which is perceived by the five senses and the activation ranges of the sensory receptors of the five senses and 2) the ego, personal I which govern the following: bodily functions, selfish and primitive urges, superiority complexes, pathological manifestations and uncontrolled Para psychological experiences along with repressed and suppressed memories.

However, the individual that is conscious of his/her true “Self” (Higher Self) learns to search for the seat of ALLAH; that exists within which is also identified as the center of all consciousness: that aspect that is immortal and unmovable by time and space. The activation of the higher self leads to the increase of altruistic love, higher functions of spiritual force and the use of higher psychic power. By honoring thy mothers and fathers, the collective unconscious psychic net that leads to the transmutation of base genetic information into higher frequency cosmic memory activation, the Moorish descendents learn of the importance of liberating one’s self from the psychological barriers of mental slavery and bio-spiritual impediments.

This message of “honoring thy mother and thy father” is a mystic code for ancient Moorish descendents to tap into the collective unconscious center of the mind and learn to read the mnemonic files encode in symbology and mystic hieroglyphs. As taught by Noble Drew Ali, Moorish identity and history is important for the psychological welfare of conscious and unconscious Moorish descendents. chaos or death, liberty in humanity and felicity of Heaven.
Three necessities control all things:
beginning in the Great Deep, the circle of chaos, plenitude in Heaven.
Three are the paths of the Soul:
Man, Liberty, Light.
Three are the hindrances:
lack of endeavor to obtain knowledge;
non-attachment to god; attachment to evil.
In man, the three are manifest.
Three are the Kings of power within.
Three are the chambers of the mysteries,
found yet not found in the body of man.
Hear ye now of he who is liberated,
freed from the bondage of life into Light.
Knowing the source of all worlds shall be open.
Aye, even the Gates of Arulu shall not be barred.
Yet heed, O man, who would’st enter heaven.
If ye be not worthy,

rolled through the channels of clouds to the Man-world.
Filled was the hall with Spirits of Heaven.
Wonder of wonders was the Starry palace.
Above the sky, like a rainbow of Fire and Sunlight,
were Formed the Spirits.
Sang they the glories of the Holy One.
Then from the midst of the Fire came a voice:
Behold the Glory of the first Cause.
I beheld that Light, high above all darkness,
reflected in my own being.
I attained, as it were, to the God of all Gods,
the Spirit-Sun, the Sovereign of the Sun spheres.
There is One, Even the First,
who hath no beginning,
who hath no end;
who hath made all things,
who govern all,
who is good,
who is just,
who illumines,
who sustains.
Then from the throne, there poured a great radiance,
surrounding and lifting my soul by its power.
Swiftly I moved through the spaces of Heaven,
shown was I the mystery of mysteries,
shown the Secret heart of the cosmos.
Carried was I to the land of Arulu,
stood before the Lords in their Houses.
Opened they the Doorway so I might
glimpse the primeval chaos.
Shuddered my soul to the vision of horror,
shrank back my soul from the ocean of darkness.
Then saw I the need for the barriers,
saw the need for the Lords of Arulu..

Only they with their Infinite balance could
stand in the way of the inpouring chaos.
Only they could guard God’s creation.
Then did I pass ëround the circle of eight.
Saw all the souls who had conquered the darkness.
Saw the splendor of Light where they dwelled.
Longed I to take my place in their circle,
but longed I also for the way I had chosen,
when I stood in the Halls of Amenti
and made my choice to the work I would do.
Passed I from the Halls of Arulu
down to the earth space where my body lay.
Arose I from the earth where I rested.
Stood I before the Dweller.

Gave my pledge to renounce my Great
right until my work on Earth was completed,
until the Age of darkness be past.
List ye, O man, to the words I shall give ye.
In them shall ye find the Essence of Life.
Before I return to the Halls of Amenti,
taught shall ye be the Secrets of Secrets,
how ye, too, may arise to the Light.
Preserve them and guard them,
hide them in symbols,
so the profane will laugh and renounce.
In every land, form ye the mysteries.
Make the way hard for the seeker to tread.

Thus will the weak and the wavering be rejected.
Thus will the secrets be hidden and guarded,
held till the time when the wheel shall be turned.
Through the dark ages, waiting and watching,
my Spirit shall remain in the deep hidden land.
When one has passed all the trials of the outer,
summon ye me by the Key that ye hold.

Then will I, the Initiator, answer,
come from the Halls of the Gods in Amenti.
Then will I receive the initiate, give him the words of power.
Hark ye, remember, these words of warning:
bring not to me one lacking in wisdom,
impure in heart or weak in his purpose.
Else I will withdraw from ye your power
to summon me from the place of my sleeping.

Heavens, God-men in Truth

The true purpose of Moorish Science is to experience the sacred and ultimate attainment of “Self Mastery.” This attainment of “Self Mastery” represents the alchemical transmutation of the physical self into the true self of Aught: Spirit Self. The noblest mystical experiences, as well as the quenching of the deepest desires of the adept, are realized through the techniques of Mystic Islam or, more precisely, Moorish Science.

Through a complete study of Moorish Science, one finds that all of the great spiritual systems of the world are interconnected as stated in the MHK Chapter 10:18-19

• “Man names the parts of ALLAH he sees, and this to him is all of ALLAH; and every nation sees a part of ALLAH, and every nation has a name for ALLAH. You Brahmans call him Parabrahm, in Egypt he is Thoth, and Zeus is his name in Greece, Jehovah is his Hebrew name, but everywhere he is the causeless cause , the rootless root from which all things have grown.”

As with all great systems of spiritual mastery, Mystic Islam and the true Islamic life of tawhid (doctrine of oneness) can be integrated as they are all one system stemming from “One” great source. In fact proof of this can be seen in the spiritual systems of Islam and Yoga. If studied closely and with an open mind, one will see that there is “no” conflict between Islam and Yoga as they are mutually beneficial and synergystic in nature. In both sciences, it is agreed that, while the body is important as a garment of flesh on the path to spiritual realization and salvation, the Asiatic’s primary identity is not with the body, but with the eternal Spirit as “Time never was when Man was not.”

Just as Moorish Scientists know that the most ancient form of Yoga is of pre-Hindu origin, it is also known that Yoga is not a religion, but a set of scientific techniques and skills that enhance and coincides with the practice of Islam.

It is also to be noted that the ancient mystic arts of Advaita Vedanta and the doctrine of oneness, tawhid of Islam, are of perfect compatibility as they both express the highest levels of Islam and Yoga. As most sufi scientists agree that everything in manifestation has its origin in the Supernal, then it is well understood that the manifestations of the material plane are derived from the ideational realm of archetypes (known as al-a’yân al-thâbitah in the esoteric sufism of Ibn al-’Arabî). This realm/world, limited as it is, is just an expression of the ultimate Reality, and will ultimately be reabsorbed in its supernal Origin (MHK Chapter 7). Advaita Vedanta and Islamic science also agree that ALLAH is the only absolutely real, eternal Reality (Truth is Aught and Aught is ALLAH); as all else is contingent and therefore transitory/illusion. The Unitarian views of reality in Advaita Vedanta vibrates in accordance with the tawhîd (doctrine of oneness) of Islam, and the Oneness of Being in the Sufi doctrine of Ibn al-’Arabî.

To conclude this work, we shall compare, with symbolism, the Prophet Muhammad’s nighttime ascent to Heaven, al-Mi’râj, with the corresponding symbolism in the yoga spiritual system. The Prophet ascended on al-Burâq, a riding beast with the head of a woman, through the seven heavens to the Throne of ALLAH. As expressed in the system of yoga, “Kundalini” has an feminine energy (Shakti) that dwells at the base of the spine and ascends through seven levels (seven chakras-Lataif) to the summit of liberation (Brahmarandhra).

Moorish Science, the Ancient Moorish spiritual system of MYSTIC ISLAM, teaches the esoteric mysteries of the Unity of the omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent, ALLAH. The “Vision of the Heart” (ru’yat al-qalb) is designed to bring man back into his divine inheritance which is the “Oneness of ALLAH” (Koran Questions #4). The Moorish Scientist, through higher thought reflection, knows that from ALLAH proceeded the ALLAHUMA, (Elohim, Universal Principalities) (Koran Questions #97), and all the worlds of the microcosmic and macrocosmic Universes. ALLAH manifested all forms of reality and principalities within those realities; however, ALLAH remains single and alone, the multiplicity within the unity. As Moorish Scientist know that there is only one Supreme Being, ALLAH, and that the ALLAHUMA are expressions of that One Supreme Being; Moors strive to unify as one harmonic with the divine principalities, the ALLAHUMA (Elohim), by developing within the psyche, the various attributes and divine qualities that symbolize the 99 + 1 cosmic functions of ALLAH. As Moorish Scientists, we believe that the Supreme Being, ALLAH is the same Supreme Being in all spiritual systems of the ancient world.

ALLAH established all creation with the divine principles of ISLAM (MAAT), Love, Truth, Peace, Freedom and Justice; and that the actions of the pure seeker of Moorish Science, determine the quality of life which is lead and experienced by the Asiatic Adept. The goal and aim of each Moor is to encourage mastery over their lower self by functioning in the higher self at all times (Koran Questions #70). Moorish Scientists understand that if ISLAM is not exercised, then Man will not be in harmony with the universal laws (will) of ALLAH (Koran Questions #73); which would breed the following: Hatred, Slander, Lewdness, Murder, Theft and everything that harms.

As a Moorish Scientist, it is taught and understood that the body may deteriorate as it is subject to change, but the spirit self is immutable and ever existent as “time never was when man was not (MHK Chapter 1).” The following are degrees of learning that Moorish Scientist will endure: the teaching of the science of Ahadiyya ( The indivisible Unity of ALLAH), the adept choosing to follow the path of ALLAH Consciousness by practicing taklif (the obligation to choose service and demonstrate the universal laws (will) of ALLAH), training of character through the art of divine self governance called Mahw, the alignment of the Merciful Breath called al-nafas al-rahmani and practicing the disciplines of Ma” rifat (gnosis), which include: the Study of the Lataif (subtle worlds within wombman/man), the study of the union of ALLAH (fina fi al-Haqq), functioning in harmony with the universal laws called haqq al-yaqin, and the acts of retreat and remembering the cosmic functions through Dhikr and Khawla. Moorish Scientists understand that ALLAH (Eloah, Elah, Eli, El Elyuwn, Neter Neteru, YHWH) provided the “Primordial Science” (Koran Questions #18) through the spiritual teachings that were written in the ancient and/or divinely structured texts (Moorish Holy Koran, Quran of Mecca, Bhagavad-Gita, The Torah, The true and ancient scriptures of the Helios Biblio-Text ‘Holy Bible” and the Pert Em Heru) that were implanted in the four corners of Assiah (plane of Manifestation) to ensure that Ahl al-haqq (the followers of the real) might study the wisdom teaching of ISLAM (the spiritual system of harmonizing the higher vibrating consciousness with ALLAH). By the practice and exercise of the disciplines of Moorish Science, the adept will discover the Mysteries of Al-Haqq (the truth) (Koran Questions #47-48) through mahq al-mahq (obliteration of obliteration) to reach the most divine and ultimate: Ana Al-Haqq, I AM TRUTH-ALLAH (Truth is Aught and Aught is Allah).

The end result for all Moorish Scientists is to become one with ALLAH (Ahadiyya) prior to death, to discover supreme peace/harmony (ISLAM), abide in fulfillment of one’s life purpose which is to return by which he came (hafira), and promote peace and harmony for the world by uplifting fallen humanity.

“During the Persian, Greek, and Roman invasions, large numbers of Egyptians fled not only to the desert and mountain regions, but also to adjacent lands in Africa, Arabia and Asia Minor, where they lived, and secretly developed the teachings which belonged to their mystery system. Moorish Science is defined as the “the condition of being at peace via submission to the universal laws of the Most High” through the infinite progression of the “study of self.” Moorish Science encompasses all spiritual sciences with the negation of superfluous dogma or doctrine, due to that fact that the “Royal Science of Self Realization” can be found in all spiritual systems of antiquity; “Truth is Aught and can not pass away” as stated by a Moorish Maxim. Moorish Science unearths Aught from under the “rubbish pile” so MAN can perfect himself as a perfect stone (smooth ashlar) in the temple of the Most High. The Moorish Scientist seeks to find “that which was lost” within himself, thus placing him on a path, journey or pilgrimage to Self Mastery. The seeking Moorish Scientist in called a traveler (Salik) in search for the infinite and unchanging Aught for “Truth (haqiqat) is Aught and Aught is Allah (the Infinite, Neter Neteru, Brahman, Yahuwa, The Tao).” Moorish Science urges the seeker (talib) to allow himself to be raised to the higher planes on consciousness by traveling through the realms of nasuwt (realm of the created beings), malakuwt (realm of the angelic entities) and lahuwt (realm of the Most High). As one meaning of the word Moor is “Navigator,” the Moorish Scientist “navigates” in his travels through the realms of time and space. The Navigation process is synonymous with ships and sailing, thus the “Sailing” process represents the beginning of “motion” in the plane of creation. Motion is the “first cause,” thus, creating the realm of time and space, which generate the conditions for the phenomenal universe.

Prior to the “first cause,” there was the primeval state (Ein Soph) of being without any form and without existence in the realm of time and space. Therefore, Moorish Science teaches that Human beings are Humans “becoming” forever ascending upward through the hierarchical systems of the Infinite, from the lower realms of Malkuth to the higher levels of Kether; from Ein Soph Ur, to Ein Soph to Ein. The study of Moorish Science, the Union with Divine Reality (fana fi al’Haqq), maps the “Kingdom of God” by implanting the seeds of wisdom that reflect the following messages:

• Luke 17:20 “The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, “Here it is,’ or .There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.”
• 1 Corinthians 3:16 “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s spirit lives in you?”
• John 10:34-35 “Is it not written in your law, I have said you are gods? If he called them .gods,’ to whom the word of God came . and the Scripture cannot be broken-”
• Psalms 82:6 “I said, .You are “gods,” children of the Most High.’

Therefore, Moorish Science, the merging of the “Lower Self” into the “Higher Self”- the union with the Divine Will, encourages the “Resurrection of the Messiah (Christ) Within You;” understanding, however, that Christ Consciousness prepares the adept for Melchizedek (King of Peace) Consciousness, then on to Metatronic Consciousness. The infinite process of consciousness evolution, despite the many wrong turns man may make on his journey, encodes the blueprints of MAN’s ultimate destiny which says, “MAN is doomed to perfection.” The Divine Constitution, with it’s seven universal principles (articles) of Mind, Correspondence, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Cause and Effect and Gender; represent the governing entity of MAN and in MAN.

Moorish Science, through the Moorish principle of “Isonomi” allows the true essence of Moorish Science to be an operative science as opposed to a speculative art. Keep in mind that Moorish Science is the ancient spiritual system taught in the “Pyramid Universities” around the Earth( Assiah) and is the science that allowed Enoch to walk with God (Genesis 5:24), “Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him.” Moorish Science is the ancient “science” of Egypt, India, Mexico, China, etc, that taught the Universal truths that connect “everything to everything (Synchronicity).” Moorish Science is the “God Realization” teachings of Moses; Abraham; Buddha; Jesus, (Yahoshua) the Christ of the of the Piscean Age; Ahkenaton; Krishna, Muhammad, etc. Moorish Science allows MAN to spiral inward until he finds himself in the center of the grand Universe fully conscious of the inner workings of his surroundings.

The Seven Hermetic Principles, upon which the entire Hermetic Philosophy is based, are as follows:

I THE PRINCIPLE OF MENTALISM.
II THE PRINCIPLE OF CORRESPONDENCE.

IV THE PRINCIPLE OF POLARITY.
V THE PRINCIPLE OF RHYTHM.

Proverbs 9:1 “Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out it’s seven pillars (THE 7 ARTICLES (PRINCIPLES) OF THE DIVINE CONSTITUTION).”

I. THE PRINCIPLE OF MENTALISM

“Man is a thought of Allah; All thoughts of Allah are INFINITE.” (Moorish Holy Koran)

“THE ALL IS MIND; The Universe is Mental.THE 7 ARTICLES (PRINCIPLES) OF THE DIVINE CONSTITUTION” — The Kybalion

This Principle embodies the truth that “All is Mind.” It explains that THE ALL (which is the Substantial Reality underlying all the outward manifestations and appearances which we know under the terms of “The Material Universe”; the “Phenomena of Life”; “Matter”; “Energy”; and, in short, all that is apparent to our material senses) is SPIRIT which in itself is UNKNOWABLE and UNDEFINABLE, but which may be considered and thought of as AN UNIVERSAL, INFINITE, LIVING MIND. It also explains that all the phenomenal world or universe is simply a Mental Creation of THE ALL, subject to the Laws of Created Things, and that the universe, as a whole, and in its parts or units, has its existence in the Mind of THE ALL, in which Mind we “live and move and have our being.” This Principle, by establishing the Mental Nature of the Universe, easly explains all of the varied mental and psychic phenomena that occupy such a large portion of the public attention, and which, without such explanation, are non-understandable and defy scientific treatment. An understanding of this great Hermetic Principle of Mentalism enables the individual to readily grasp the laws of the Mental Universe, and to apply the same to his well-being and advancement. The Hermetic Student is enabled to apply intelligently the great Mental Laws, instead of using them in a haphazard manner. With the Master-Key in his possession, the student may unlock the many doors of the mental and psychic temple of knowledge, and enter the same freely and intelligently. This Principle explains the true nature of “Energy,” “Power,” and “Matter,”and why and how all these are subordinate to the Mastery of Mind. One of the old Hermetic Masters wrote, long ages ago: “He who grasps the truth ofthe Mental Nature of the Universe is well advanced on The Path to Mastery.”And these words are as true to-day as at the time they were first written. Without this Master-Key, Mastery is impossible, and the student knocks in vain at the many doors of The Temple.

II. THE PRINCIPLE OF CORRESPONDENCE

“As above, so below; as below, so above.”–The Kybalion.

“But in their image man was made, and he who looks into the face of man, looks at the image of Allah who speaks within.” (Moorish Holy Koran)

This Principle embodies the truth that there is always a Correspondence between the laws and phenomena of the various planes of Being and Life. The old Hermetic axiom ran in these words: “As above, so below; as below, so above.” and the grasping of this Principle gives one the means of solving many a dark paradox, and hidden secrets of Nature. There are planes beyond our knowing, but when we apply the Principle of Correspondence to them we are able to understand much that would otherwise be unknowable to us. This Principle is of universal application and manifestation, on the various planes of the material, mental, and spiritual universe–it is a Universal Law. The ancient Hermetists considered this Principle as one of the most important mental instruments by which man was able to pry aside the obstacles which hid from view the Unknown. Its use even tore aside the Veil of Isis to the extent that a glimpse of the face of the goddess might be caught. Just as a knowledge of the Principles of Geometry enables man to measure distant suns and their movements, while seated in his observatory, so a knowledge of the Principle of Correspondence enables Man to reason intelligently from the Known to the Unknown. Studying the “MONAD”, he understands the archangel.

III. THE PRINCIPLE OF VIBRATION

“No man live unto himself, for everything is bound by cords to every living thing.” (Moorish Holy Koran)

“Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.” –The Kybalion.

This Principle embodies the truth that “everything is in motion”;”everything vibrates”; “nothing is at rest”; facts which Modern Science endorses,and which each new scientific discovery tends to verify. And yet this Hermetic Principle was enunciated thousands of years ago, by the Masters of Ancient Egypt. This Principle explains that the differences between different manifestations of Matter, Energy, Mind, and even Spirit, result largely from varying ratesof Vibration. From “THE ALL”, which is Pure Spirit, down to the grossest form of Matter, all is in vibration–the higher the vibration, the higher the position in the scale. The vibration of Spirit is at such an infinite rate of intensity and rapidity that it is practically at rest-just as a rapidly moving wheel seems to be motionless. And at the other end of the scale, there are gross forms of matter whose vibrations are so low as to seem at rest. Between these poles, there are millions upon millions of varying degrees of vibration. From corpuscle and electron, atom and molecule, to worlds and universes, everything is in vibratory motion. This is also true on the planes of energy and force (which are but varying degrees of vibration); and also on the mental planes (whose states depend upon vibrations); and even on tothe spiritual planes. An understanding of this Principle, with the appropriate formulas, enables Hermetic students to control their own mental vibrations as well as those of others. The Masters also apply this Principle to the conquering of Natural phenomena, in various ways. “He who understands the Principle of Vibration, has grasped the sceptre of power,” says one of theold writers.

IV. THE PRINCIPLE OF POLARITY

” There are two selves: the higher and lower self. The higher self is the human spirit clothed with soul, made in the form of Allah. The lower self, the carnal self, the body of desires, is a reflection of the higher self, distorted by the murky ethers of the flesh.” (Moorish Holy Koran)

“Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”–The Kybalion.

This Principle embodies the truth that “everything is dual”; “everything has two poles”; “everything has its pair of opposites,” all of which were old Hermetic axioms. It explains the old paradoxes, that have perplexed so many, which have been stated as follows: “Thesis and antithesis are identical in nature, but different in degree”; “opposites are the same, differing only in degree”; “the pairs of opposites may be reconciled”; “extremes meet”;”everything is and isn’t, at the same time”; “all truths are but half truths”;”every truth is half-false”; “there are two sides to everything,” etc., etc.,etc. It explains that in everything there are two poles, or opposite aspects, and that “opposites” are really only the two extremes of the same thing, with many varying degrees between them. To illustrate: Heat and Cold, although”opposites,” are really the same thing, the differences consisting merely of degrees of the same thing. Look at your thermometer and see if you can discover where “heat” terminates and “cold” begins. There is no such thing as “absolute heat” or “absolute cold”–the two terms “heat” and “cold” simply indicate varying degrees of the same thing, and that ’same thing” which manifestsas “heat’ and ‘cold” is merely a form, variety, and rate of Vibration. So”heat” and “cold” are simply the “two poles” of that which we call “Heat”–and the phenomena attendant there upon are manifestations of the Principle of Polarity. The same Principle manifests in the case of “Light and Darkness,”which are the same thing, the difference consisting of varying degrees between the two poles of the phenomena. Where does “darkness” leave off, and “light”begin? What is the difference between “Large and Small” Between “Hard and Soft” Between “Black and White” Between “Sharp and Dull” Between “Noise and Quiet” Between “High and Low” Between “Positive and Negative” The Principle of Polarity explains these paradoxes, and no other Principle can supersede it. The same Principle operates on the Mental Plane. Let us take a radical and extreme example-that of “Love and Hate,” two mental states apparently totally different. And yet there are degrees of Hate and degrees of Love, and a middle point in which we use the terms “Like or Dislike,”which shade into each other so gradually that sometimes we are at a loss to know whether we “like” or “dislike” or “neither.” And all are simply degrees of the same thing, as you will see if you will but think a moment. And, more than this (and considered of more importance by the Hermetists), it is possible to change the vibrations of Hate to the vibrations of Love, in one’s own mind, and in the minds of others. Many of you, who read these lines, have had personal experiences of the involuntary rapid transition from Love to Hate, and the reverse, in your own case and that of others. And you will therefore realize the possibility of this being accomplished by the use of the Will, by means of the Hermetic formulas. “Good and Evil” are but the poles of the same thing, and the Hermetist understands the art of transmuting Evil into Good, by means of an application of the Principle of Polarity. In short, the “Art of Polarization becomes a phase of “Mental Alchemy” known and practiced by the ancient and modern Hermetic Masters. An understanding of the Principle will enable one to change his own Polarity, as well as that of others, if he will devote the time and study necessary to master the art.

V. THE PRINCIPLE OF RHYTHM

“The plane of the soul is but the ether of the spirit plane vibrating not so fast, and in the slower rhythm of this plane the essence of life are manifest.” (Moorish Holy Koran)

“Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.”–The Kybalion

This Principle embodies the truth that in everything there is manifested a measured motion, to and fro; a flow and inflow; a swing backward and forward; a pendulum-like movement; a tide-like ebb and flow; a high-tide and low-tide;between the two poles which exist in accordance with the Principle of Polarity described a moment ago. There is always an action and a reaction; an advance and a retreat; a rising and a sinking. This is in the affairs of the Universe, suns, worlds, men, animals, mind, energy, and matter. This law is manifestin the creation and destruction of worlds; in the rise and fall of nations; in the life of all things; and finally in the mental states of Man (and it is with this latter that the Hermetists find the understanding of the Principle most important). The Hermetists have grasped this Principle, finding its universal application, and have also discovered certain means to overcome its effects in themselves by the use of the appropriate formulas and methods. They apply the Mental Law of Neutralization. They cannot annul the Principle,or cause it to cease its operation, but they have learned how to escape its effects upon themselves to a certain degree depending upon the Mastery ofthe Principle. They have learned how to use it, instead of being used by it. In this and similar methods, consist the Art of the Hermetists. The Masterof Hermetics polarizes himself at the point at which he desires to rest,and then neutralizes the Rhythmic swing of the pendulum which would tendto carry him to the other pole. All individuals who have attained any degree of Self-Mastery do this to a certain degree, more or less unconsciously, but the Master does this consciously, and by the use of his Will, and attainsa degree of Poise and Mental Firmness almost impossible of belief on the part of the masses who are swung backward and forward like a pendulum. This Principle and that of Polarity have been closely studied by the Hermetists, and the methods of counteracting, neutralizing, and using them form an importantpart of the Hermetic Mental Alchemy

VI. THE PRINCIPLE OF CAUSE AND EFFECT

” It is not strange, there are no happenings, law governs all events.” (Moorish Holy Koran)

“Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law.”–The Kybalion

This Principle embodies the fact that there is a Cause for every Effect; an Effect from every Cause. It explains that: “Everything Happens according to Law”; that nothing ever “merely happens”; that there is no such thing as Chance; that while there are various planes of Cause and Effect, the higher dominating- the lower planes, still nothing ever entirely escapes the Law. The adepts understand the art and methods of rising above the mundane plane of Cause and Effect, to a certain degree, and by mentally rising to a higher plane they become Causers instead of Effects. The masses of people are carried along, obedient to environment; the wills and desires of others stronger than themselves; heredity; suggestion; and other outward causes moving them about like pawns on the Chessboard of Life. But the Masters, rising to the plane above, dominate their moods, characters, qualities, and powers, as well as the environment surrounding them, and become Movers instead of pawns. They help to play the game of life, instead of being played and moved about by other wills and environment. They use the Principle instead of being its tools. The Masters obey the Causation of the higher planes, but they help to RULE on their own plane. In this statement there is a condensed wealth of Hermetic knowledge-let him read who can.

VII. THE PRINCIPLE OF GENDER

“Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles; Gender manifests on all planes.”–The Kybalion.

This Principle embodies the truth that there is “gender” manifested in everything–the Masculine and Feminine Principles ever at work. This is true not only of the Physical Plane, but of the Mental and even the Spiritual Planes. On the Physical Plane, the Principle manifests as “sex,” on the higher planes it takes higher forms, but the Principle is ever the same. No creation, physical, mental or spiritual, is possible without this Principle. An understanding of its laws will throw light on many a subject that has perplexed the minds of men. The Principle of Gender works ever in the direction of generation, regeneration, and creation. Everything, and every person, contains the two Elements or Principles, or this great Principle, within it, him or her. Every Male thing has the Female Element also; every Female contains also the Male Principle. If you would understand the philosophy of Mental and Spiritual Creation, Generation, and Re-generation, you must understand and study this Hermetic Principle. It contains the solution of many mysteries of Life. We caution you that this Principle has no reference to the many base, pernicious and degrading lustful theories, teachings and practices, which are taught under fanciful titles, and which are a prostitution of the great natural principle of Gender. Such base revivals of the ancient infamous forms of Phallicism tend to ruin mind, body and soul, and the Hermetic Philosophy has ever sounded the warning note against these degraded teachings which tend toward lust, licentiousness, and perversion of Nature’s principles. If you seek such teachings, you must go elsewhere for them–Hermeticism contains nothing for you along these lines. To the pure, all things are pure; to the base, all things are base.
