“He learned the secrets of the mystic lore of Egyptland, the mysteries of life and death and of the world beyond the circle of the sun.”

The Sheik, Moorish Scientist, explores three modes of active and operative knowledge that reduces the illusory “distance” between Man and ALLAH. These operative methods of knowledge are as follows: heart knowledge (love mysticism), beatific vision (theophany mysticism) and immaterial sensory knowledge (intuitive mysticism). In the scope of mysticism and mastery, the Sheik is identified as a physical representation of a sage and/or high priest operating in the ancient and mystic lore of the “old time religion” and in the ancient traditions of knowing and understanding which also include the activation of spiritual forces that effect the expression of phenomena. The Sheik is a master of the mysteries, both material and spiritual. The Sheik also acts as a spiritual counselor to assist in finding, understanding and processing solutions to spiritual and secular related issues that hinder the awakening process that lead to higher realms of being, experience and intelligence.

The Meccan Revelations, volume IThe function of a Sheik is to provide guidance for the purpose of helping others develop the discipline and character that support spiritual growth and enlightenment. This is done by identifying the spiritual destiny (Ori) while developing a spiritual blueprint to cultivate the higher destiny of the spiritual adept. Just as Moors honor all of the true and divine prophets, so does the Sheik by honoring and remaining out of conflict with other religions and traditions as he/she is thoroughly trained in the universal truth that is held within each spiritual system that re-links one to their divine and perfect origin.

The Sheik’s influence should extend deep into all phases of life as he/she lives for one purpose, to discover the will of ALLAH and to become that “Will” in manifestation. Because the Sheik is charged with the spiritual development of others, he/she must also dedicate themselves to improving their own understanding of life while acting as a proper example for others; therefore, the Sheik must hold his own behavior, thoughts and actions to the highest moral standards.

The Meccan Revelations, Volume IIThrough the utilization of the three modes of operative knowledge, the Sheik (Moorish Scientist) learns to recognize the world’s objects as garments of ALLAH. Through perpetual spiritual growth and discernment, the Sheik then sees the garments as transparencies, only to see ALLAH veiled within each garment as symbolism.

  • Moorish Holy Koran (MHK) 11:22 - “These forms of life were but the thought of ALLAH, clothed in the substance of their ether planes.”

The doctrine of “fana” (the extinction of personal existence Quran 55:26-27) plays a great role in the ever developing Sheik, Moorish Scientist, because he/she soon realizes that “self” consciousness, replete with private and personal agendas, perpetuate the seperateness of Man from ALLAH, which creates distance between Man and his true destiny: the “Oneness of ALLAH (ahadiyya).”

Read the following passage and think over the coded message.

“There is a means of polishing all things whereby rust may be removed. That which polishes the heart is the invocation of ALLAH.”
